Ten images from master painter Sebastian Krüger. Popularizing the hyper-distorted trend in contemporary caricature during the mid 1980’s and 90’s, Krüger’s early success has not limited his desire for and pursuit of continual visual growth. His early work, seen here, though brilliant–borders on the cartoonish at times but when compared to his most recent paintings, the name Chuck Close cannot help but come to mind. Krüger is usually referred to as a caricaturist though he actually considers himself a portrait painter, as well as promoter of the New Pop Art.
